EPISODE 95
In Episode 95, I referenced the new film about the late artist, Robert Mapplethorpe simply entitled, MAPPLETHORE. It’s in initial theaters now and rolling out into cities across the country throughout April.
Why should you see this? Mapplethorpe was a pioneer as an artist creating some of the most provocative photography that said more about his eye for beauty, lines, perception, race and sexuality to name a few. I prefer the documentary, “Mapplethorpe: Look at the Pictures” as a better, more in depth look at the artist and what charged the man, but MAPPLETHORPE is worth seeing especially as we approach the 50th anniversary of Stonewall and celebrate all the incredible figures that have come before, remain and those undiscovered.
